5. Stack Positive Momentum
At this point provided you have followed the previous article’s action steps, you have been saying grace, practicing meditation, fully being aware of your PMO experience when it is happening, and you have written down a list that shows the true unfiltered truth of what your PMO addiction has cost you.
Now it is time to add two more positive habits to your routine. This is in preparation for the day you finally decide to fully quit and start on the process of facing your PMO addiction.
The two positive habits are diet and exercise. You may already be experienced in these areas, great, get back to it. If you are not experienced in these areas here is a very simple guide to starting.
Action Steps:
Diet
Prioritize protein and healthy fats
Healthy fats: Nuts, olive oil, whole fat dairy, meat, seeds, avocado, fish
Protein: Meat, eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, fish
Limit Carbs and sugar
Avoid: Added sugar as much as possible, pasta, bread, flour, gluten
Avoid seed oils
Canola, corn, cottonseed, flax seed, grape seed, hemp seed, rice bran, safflower, sesame, soybean, sunflower
Excercise
Make a fitness blender account
Sign up for free or paid membership
Search the workouts, filter for the type you are looking for
workout 3-4 times a week alternate areas of the body
use the calender provided in your account to schedule your workouts
Even though you are still actively using PMO by adding the above actions to your routine you will start to build a strong positive momentum in your life. By becoming healthier and treating yourself better you are beginning to lay the foundation for a life that is much more rewarding and compelling than your PMO harem.
Do not worry about being perfect just do the best you can do. Depending on how deep you are in unhealthy lifestyle, it may start with replacing just one unhealthy meal with a healthy one each day. It may be that you start with a 5-10 minute workout 3 times a week, but that is ok, this is not about being perfect it is about building your discipline and getting used to doing positive things for yourself.
Enjoy the good feelings that come from clean eating and exercise. I experience an attitude adjustment from working out, it makes me feel strong, capable, and feel more positive about my life. Add diet and exercise onto the other actions you are already taking, be consistent, and feel very hopeful because your PMO addiction days are numbered, your exit is coming to you rapidly!
